Dictionaries in Lexonomy can be created by importing existing dictionary data. The supported formats are NVH and XML.
NVH
NVH is the preferred format. Lexonomy will automatically create the corresponding entry structure based on the uploaded data. If your data are not in the NVH format, you should convert them first.
Converting to NVH
To convert your data to NVH, you should find a person with basic coding skills to write scripts that will edit the data as necessary. If such a person is difficult to find, we strongly recommend using an AI (ChatGPT for example) to convert the data. You do not need any technical skills to do this. Here is how.
XML
Dictionaries in the XML format can be uploaded. Lexonomy will build the entry structure based on the uploaded dictionary. The data will be converted into NVH. The original XML will be discarded and any future edits will be carried out in NVH. The Lexonomy editor uses NVH as its format. Data can be downloaded as XML but the downloaded XML does not preserve the uploaded XML schema.
